  All of my classmates produce great work and they all have an individual appeal that captures a certain audience. But if I weren't a media analyst whose writing would speak to me as a consumer? Who do I feel I can relate to? One possible answer is Rhett Gentry . As someone who has had the pleasure of seeing him speak in person I know how big his personality can be and I identify with that. We are both larger than life young gentleman who share interests in gaming, guitar playing, and great memes.   As a child if you had told me that competitive gaming could net me millions of dollars I would have looked at you and called you crazy. But with gamers like those of China's Team Newbee netting over one million each for a single DOTA 2 tournament it's just the new reality we live in. To put it into perspective the prize was 5 million dollars and they split it up 5 ways. I think back to being 12 years old and absolutely decimating people at Halo Reach and wonder if maybe I should have spent less time studying and playing basketball and more time grinding away at video games.   Binge watching has been around since television itself but has taken various iterations through out the years. Think back to when people would binge the same three channels no matter what were on TV for hours on end. Most of us can recall a time where we watched some sort of marathon on TV as well.  Now, the demographic my age probably remembers the days of bringing home a heap of VHS tapes or DVD's from video rental stores. I personally remember the joy of going to the local Movie Gallery on a Friday picking out my favorites to stay in and watch all weekend. While doing a proper search it isn't hard to find "meme calendars for years past. These show the respective memes that were highly popular in that month. There are also types of memes that are job, location, and fandom specific. The wide array of topics make memeing a form of comedy almost anyone who can come up with a caption can participate in. As you can see the memes from 2019 were globally based and had a wide variety of subjects from an egg to the unveiling of the Cybertruck.
