Surveillance and Law Enforcement
With all the advances made in surveillance there's an ever present technological pair of eyes following you at virtually all times. In many cases this provides insight into various crimes and misdoings. It can even lead to clues as to missing people's whereabouts. Other times it leads to someone committing the most entertaining of crimes, C.W.S. or the act of crime while stupid. Would be robbers and other miscreants are some of the best at creating viral videos of bodily injury. Almost all police officers are equipped with body cams so many times we get to see this tomfoolery from their point of view. Every now and then the victim of these viral incidents is just an innocent bystander and with products like the Ring Doorbell, Google Nest Doorbell , and the nationally recognized ADT Security it makes capturing these videos so much easier. In addition the widespread use of smartphones means anything is two clicks away from being captured and posted.
This clip features more security camera footage. My favorite was the men attempting to rob a store with something that resembles a forklift or backhoe. Criminals get bolder as time goes on but they also seem to get dumber. In certain situations these grandiose attempts to make off with a big score have worked. One example would be the relatively recent ATM thefts in Texarkana. Believe it or not this isn't the first time either with incidents dating back past 2016.
The video above shows various humorous interactions between criminals and officers from body cams and other security devices. One video depicts an interaction between officers and a man with drugs stuffed in very strange places. Footage like this shows the lighter side of what can be a very dangerous job. Clips like this reaffirm that police officers are just normal people like us who encounter wacky things on job just like everybody else.

Lastly I linked in a video of a YouTuber Mark Rober combating porch pirates. This young man had a package stolen and the police did nothing to assist him. This is the second video in this series that he's done but this time he called in for some help from the original trap building prankster Macaulay Culkin. This seemed fitting since Rober cited the hit film Home Alone as his inspiration for this device.
